It’s eco-friendly, totally trendy, and even good for you: for the first time ever, the Fashion Center (which works to improve the quality of life in the garment district) will be providing 30 free bicycles for Fashion Week attendees to use as transportation to shows.  They need only put down a security deposit to access a ride.

Of course, these aren’t just any old two-wheelers.  The bikes are handmade in New York and no two are alike, as they’re each embellished by a New York-based designer like Rebecca Taylor, Isaac Mizrahi, or Diane von Furstenberg.  The rides will be made available for the duration of New York Fashion Week, from September 8 – 15.  What do you think?  Will you be bringing your best flat shoes to pedal around from show to show?
