Bloggers crossing over to model the style they report on isn’t new, but so far the latest Internet stars haven’t strayed from conventional fashion anymore than anyone else. If bloggers who become famous in their own right aren’t sample sized, they’re at least close. The Italian brand Marina Rinaldi is breaking out of the mold, however, by bringing together 12 influential, international plus-size bloggers to star in their newest ad campaign.
The bloggers, who hail from Europe, Turkey, and the U.S., were brought together in Milan for a video and still shoot. Marina Rinaldi, which is owned by the Max Mara Group, represents the luxury end of the spectrum of plus-size women’s wear, so if the trickle-down effect holds any sway in fashion, this should be a good thing. The campaign is operating under the name and hashtag #WomenAreBack, so check out your preferred social media for more information on the participants and their own blogs.
