You Can Actually Tweet Photos From Underwater With TheQ Camera

And we thought a “social media camera” was our iPhone.  Realizing that, hey, all those selfies are just destined for Facebook and Instagram anyway, Stockholm-based start-up Q Lifestyle released a camera yesterday, theQ, that links directly to all the social media networks, for your self-aggrandizing enjoyment.

Just kidding on that last point; what the camera does is really very convenient.  The 3G-connected gadget offers one-button uploading to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Blogger, Google+, Flickr, and users’ email.  Besides making it easy to compulsively share pictures, theQ’s connectivity means you’ll never have to worry about running out of memory card space, the camera’s most uniquely valuable feature.

With both built-in image filters and a manual-focus lens, theQ bridges the gap between traditional photography and the reality of how we take pictures now, in a pretty interesting way.  As you can see, it’s also pretty cute (and comes in a bunch of different colors).  The company also offers its users a huge amount of virtual storage in the “Q Lab.”

For skeptics: the picture above isn’t just promotional, the 5 megapixel gadget is also waterproof to three feet under.  Don’t try that at home with your iPhone…
