With Burberry’s new Kisses program, you’re going to need to clean off that iPad screen soon. Try five new shades of lipstick from Burberry Beauty and send a colorful kiss around the world through Burberry Kisses, a digital initiative from the label that just launched today.
The separate microsite was created in conjunction with Google (it’s optimized for Chrome, FYI) and lets users kiss their touchscreens, seal the “kiss” in an envelope, and send it onward, watching the journey through Burberry-enhanced versions of Google Street View and Google Earth. If you don’t want to smudge your screen, you can also send a kiss via Burberry’s main site, using your Web cam.
The idea behind the program is to humanize technology, giving a branded digital initiative a little bit of soul.
And of course, since it’s Burberry, a brand that loves its bands, the program has a dedicated soundtrack from Misty Miller, a musician the company has worked with in the past.
