Yayoi Kusama and Louis Vuitton, James Nares for Coach…there’s nothing we love more in collaboration world than an art-and-fashion crossover. The latest to add to the list are Rei Kawakubo and the Andy Warhol Foundation, who have partnered on a line of tees, scarves, sneakers, and totes.
The Comme des Garçons designers’ styles feature some of Warhol’s best-known iconography, like his prints of flowers, cows, and his own portrait. Evidently the Foundation actually approached Kawakubo about the line, boosted by Comme des Garçons’ general support for the arts.
While Andy probably would have approved of the Andy Warhol x Comme des Garçons, we have one gripe — it’s not available online anywhere. Apparently, the more rarefied and art-leaning the fashion collab, the harder it is to get. The unisex, limited edition pieces are being sold at Dover Street Market in London and the Comme des Garçons boutique in Paris.
