London is hosting the first-ever Global Kids Fashion Week from March 18th to the 20th of next year. Terrific?
We suppose this was only inevitable given the rise of luxury brands creating children’s lines for cash. True to (adult) runway form, the clothing featured in the shows will all be very high-end. Performances, exhibitions, and talks will also be associated with the event. While the main shows will be for media only, there is a charitable component — a ticketed show will be held to benefit the non-profit Kids Company. (The organization provides support for inner-city youth throughout the UK.) This event will be put on by the multibrand children’s retailer Alex and Alexa.
In case you think kids on the runway is a great idea but can’t get to London, don’t fret — the event already has expansion in the works, with as-yet-unnamed shows coming to the U.S., Australia, and the Middle East.
