From June 9 to the 17th, the formerly online-only men’s retailer Mr Porter will host a pop-up shop in downtown New York. A plethora of digital and media-based activities and initiatives will launch in tandem with the temporary store.
First and foremost, the retailer will partner with USA Network’s show, “Suits,” to present a fashion show, on June 12th, on New York’s Highline. Onlookers can take and print Instagram prints (they’re printable with the hashtag #SuitsStyle) via stations set up around the show. Meanwhile, the Mr Porter pop-up shop will be no mere retail space, since it’ll be outfitted with Microsoft Surface Tabletops for customers to create looks from the goods on hand (these can be saved to the store’s iPads and purchased there, too).
There’s also an attendant iPhone app, Suit Yourself, that will be available a week from today, and a microsite, celebrating the show’s second season premiere with relevant, shoppable style. And if you live in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Chicago, keep an eye out for the latest print edition of the Mr Porter Post, which is enhanced with Aurasma’s augmented reality app, allowing the paper’s products to be entirely shoppable, too. (Hey, dudes, Mr Porter wants you to shop. Can you tell?)
Oh, and last but not least, there’s the chance to win a $25,000 spree at Mr Porter. Details aren’t available yet — you’ll have to check the microsite to learn more.
