Band of Outsiders Puts On World's Longest Fashion Show

Band of Outsiders Longest Show Ever

Is fashion moving to the gallery windows?  It’s certainly exploring its more artistic side there.  Daphne Guinness got dressed in Barneys New York’s windows for Fashion’s Night Out.  Big city department store flagship windows have been go-to fashion mainstays around the holidays for years.  Now Band of Outsiders is distracting from more mainstream men’s shows in Paris this week by putting on a multi-day, one-man fashion show behind the front panes of an art gallery.

Going for something a little more extravagant than the Guinness stint (that lasted a few hours), the label equipped their model, Brendan Ruck, with a book, a bed, and an iPhone.  He’s being fed through the wall.  Last we checked the livestream, he was taking Polaroids of passersby.  Scott Sternberg, the label’s founder, deliberately set out to stage the “longest show ever” and was inspired by the Occupy movement.

The Longest Show Ever doesn’t actually go on forever, but with the time difference, you’ve still got a few more hours.  Check out Ruck’s shenanigans — and 25 outfits — being livestreamed here.
