Highs:

  • Various designers are making efforts to include 3D technology in their upcoming Fashion Week shows.  This should be fun.  (NYT)
  • Helmut Lang is returning to the runway.  The label will show at New York Fashion Week for the first time since 2007.  (Vogue UK)
  • Despite the disruption it caused on the East Coast, Hurricane Irene, in all likelihood, did not hurt August retail’s numbers too much.  (High Low)

Lows:

  • J. Crew finally settled with its investors, for $16 million, after their buyout deal several months ago incited those investors to file lawsuits.  (Reuters)
  • Trends this fall have been deemed varied to the point of verging on manic.  Which should at least make it easy to dress stylishly, since there seem to be no limits.   (WSJ)
  • Yikes!  Despite being created for charity, it’s hard not to be dismayed by the $18,000 price tag on a pair of new Chipkos flip flops.  (High Low)
