Here’s a clever approach to marketing: starting September 8, all guests who book a suite at the new Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel will receive complimentary access to Fred Segal’s first-ever ‘lending library.’
The iconic LA department store and luxury hotelier have teamed up to loan guests some of the store’s hottest current trends — from layered necklaces and oversized stone cuffs to dog accessories, belts, totes, leather purses, and aviator sunglasses — during their stay.
The Fred Segal and Loews Hotel partnership is a logical one — both brands are committed to providing luxurious amenities for consumers. And this innovative service takes the mantra ‘pack lightly’ to a whole new level, allowing guests to focus more on their vacation and less on the contents of their luggage.
While the goods at Fred Segal’s Lending Library aren’t for sale, it’s a savvy marketing approach, especially because the department store’s Santa Monica branch is only five blocks from the hotel. Providing hotel guests with tempting items to ‘borrow’ is a chic and interesting way of attracting high-end tourists, in search of similar goods, to shop at their store.
