Gilt Groupe is investing in its Facebook presence. This Monday, the flash sale site added an e-boutique to its Facebook page, allowing fans easy access to men’s, women’s and children’s clothes and accessories, plus home decor items. According to Mashable, there will be a new sale in each category beginning at noon ET on Mondays.
Right now, the selection offered on Facebook is small. Women can browse a shop curated by Gilt buyer Caroline Knapp featuring 15 items (like a khaki trench, strappy sandals, a cashmere scarf and a striped maxi dress) and men have 24 products to choose from (including chinos, skinny jeans, a leather belt and a linen knit sweater). Gilt is also featuring two sales exclusive to Facebook: a selection of Vera Wang Home linens and SpongeBob-themed stuff for kids.

Browsing through Facebook feels and looks like browsing directly on Gilt; when you find something you like, you can check out right in Facebook with your Gilt username and password. Users can comment on and “Like” items and sales—with each interaction, spreading information about the sale to their individual networks. And at the bottom of each page Gilt has added a widget directing shoppers to more sales on gilt.com. It’s an impressive integration and maybe one of the best Facebook stores we’ve seen to date.
