Though the invitation is extended to hetero- and same-sex couples alike, starting today, Saks Fifth Avenue is celebrating New York’s legalization of gay marriage all week — by offering a special wedding package at their Fifth Avenue Club in Manhattan.

While there’s nothing inherently groundbreaking about the combination of sparkling wine, white cupcakes, and a consultation with a wedding style consultant, the department store is donating 10% of all sales from the week of appointments to Live Out Loud, which seeks to connect LGBT youth with mentors and role models from the LGBT community.  And just for fun — or maybe as extra encouragement to book an appointment this week — the store will be giving away honeymoon-themed gift bags.

What we really admire is how appreciably vocal the invitation itself is — there’s no guessing here as to Saks’ stance on New York’s new law.   So if you happen to be getting hitched and feel like taking a stand, maybe a consultation at the department store this week is just the ticket.
