Carolina Herrera Taps Children for New Bag Design

Does your child have a way with colored pencils? Harness his or her budding art skills and you could win a new bag courtesy of Carolina Herrera.

The fashion label is crowdsourcing a design for its “Andy bag” — interested parties can drop by any CH Carolina Herrera store to pick up a notebook in which their offspring can doodle submissions. According to a release, the contest is open to “children aged between 2 and 10″ and “the only other requirements for entry are a high dose of creativity and plenty of enthusiasm.”

The Andy bag and the notebook

We’ve seen plenty of crowdsourced-bag competitions lately–from Bergdorf Goodman’s Facebook Fendi giveaway to Rebecca Minkoff’s Polyvore collaboration–but this is the first time we’ve heard of design outsourcing being handed over to the grade school set.

The mother of the winning designer will receive a bag of his or her child’s design, while the second runner up will get a selection of CH Carolina Herrera clothing and the third runner up, a teddy bear. Interesting that only one of these prizes is actually meant for the artist him/herself!
